We know that funding is important when it comes to graduate school! Learn about how to access funding from COE-GSO, UA, and other external sources as you complete your graduate studies.

THE 2022-2023 TRAVEL FUNDING AWARD WINDOW IS NOW CLOSED
Travel funding for the 2022-2023 academic year is now closed and all awards have been disbursed. Please check the "Travel Funding" page below for more information regarding travel funding and eligibility. If you have questions, email coe-gso@ua.edu.

COE-GSO Funding Initiatives

A great benefit of COE-GSO active membership is the ability to obtain travel funding for conferences and professional development. We also provide funding for speakers or seminars you’d like to host. Learn about COE-GSO funding by clicking "Travel Funding" and "Event Funding" below! Additional funding opportunities can be found in the "Other Funding Opportunities" section.

Travel Funding

COE-GSO can provide active members with funding to travel to conferences and professional events. 

Event Funding

COE-GSO can help fund student-curated events, like speakers or other professional-related programs.

Graduate School Funding

The Graduate School at UA will match funding that your academic department in the College of Education provides you with for trips to conferences. The Graduate School also offers fellowships that pay tuition, health insurance, and a stipend. Click the icon to learn more about these opportunities. 

​External Fellowships

There are numerous discipline-specific fellowships you can apply for that will cover tuition and/or provide a stipend. Often competitive, these fellowships are great easy to fund graduate school. Click here for a partial list of some fellowships from a list compiled by COE-GSO!

International Travel

The Office of Academic Affairs and the Capstone International Center (CIC) offer limited funding to students and faculty who are participating in conferences and other opportunities abroad. Click here to learn more about this funding opportunity. 

COE Scholarships

Each year, the College of Education offers students the opportunity to apply for a variety of scholarships. Click here for a listing of each scholarship and more information about eligibility. Applications are available online through the College.
